Gail Hodgson's Bio:
Gail Hodgson is founder and director of BC Murals Plus in Kelowna BC. She has worked for eight years as an artist/muralist and decorative painter, bringing atmosphere and character to commercial and residential surroundings in the Okanagan Valley. She has also developed her skills as an artist and now has two of her paintings displayed on this site.
Gail is a graduate of Grant MacEwan College's Visual Communication - Graphic Design Program, to which she attributes her skilful mural and 'Trompe L'Oeil' work.
Gail has studied various forms of movement and dance from several cultures. As a graduate of the Destiny Visionary Leadership Training Program, she is a visionary leader whose passion for dance, movement, art and sound have merged with her personal healing journey. This passion has also unfolded a deeper creative and somatic path to healing and expression.
In 2003, Gail was inspired to start another business called, "Innerverse." Innerverse is an exploration of art, breath, sound and dance with the intention of connecting to our creative nature and the healing of our hearts and minds. An Innerverse web site, where Gail's visionary paintings can be viewed, is currently under construction. "I feel inspired to portray the interconnectedness of all life," says Gail. "Boundaries dissolve, webs of sound and creation emerge and a cosmic orchestra is a continuous event underlying all 'supposed separate' matter and activity."
Gail is passionate about helping others "come alive" creatively. She directs a performance group that expresses various art forms from Africa. The group also informs audiences about "The Caia Connection" an exciting grassroots project of which she is a co-founder. The intention of this project is to assist an African community in Caia, Mozambique. It specifically addresses the plight of 8000 AIDS affected orphaned children.
